Christmas is nearly here and the BGA is turning its attention to the year ahead.
The BGA has had a very busy year, which began with a headline speech at the 2009 National Equine Forum. This was a fine opportunity to represent grooms and raise the awareness of the BGA and its aims. As a result, the BGA was given a £4,500 Grant from the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, and over the past 7 months we have been working exceptionally hard to develop the Equine Employers Handbook.
Due to launch in January, the Equine Employers Handbook is a great opportunity for the Association to offer support and guidance to employers and increase its income streams - all profits will go back into the BGA. The cost will be £37.50 plus postage per Handbook.
2009 has seen the BGA help countless members with a wide range of issues from general career advice, to those who have been bullied or unfairly dismissed. We have also developed the FAQs section in the Members Area and are pleased to see that this is now being used much more.
In 2010 the BGA will focus its development work on the website and members area. As a Professional Association we believe in offering our members as much professional support as possible. So will spend time developing letter templates, CV writing tips, freelance groom dedicated advice, tips and accounts templates.
None of this could be possible without the support from our loyal sponsors - thank you to them all.
